Stone Organic Pastures At Stone Organic Pastures, we are choosing the best breeds of animals for the best tasting meats and animal products, for the quality of the animal best suited for pasture raising, and premium USDA certified organic feed, so you?ll say, ?where?s my next one?? Our pasture has been certified organic by Indiana Certified Organic, LLC in October 2004. No chemicals are used on or around the animals or pasture. Through our research, we have compiled a new methodology that is different from the American and European standards of raising animals that we believe is superior to these standards. USDA Certified Organic standards allow for some chemicals; we don?t use any chemicals. Absolutely no antibiotics, hormones, or any other chemicals are used on any animal. The water these animals drink has been tested at a lab. Laying chickens: The entire pasture ? 12+ acres ? in Fisher, (central) IL, located 20 min. north of Champaign, has not been sprayed with any chemical for 20 plus years; land that has never been farmed. Our egg laying chickens are out in the pasture everyday from morning until dark on the pasture. They are fed organic feed. The eggs are high in Omega-3 The animals are in a non-stress environment; They are not crowded in the barn at night. The animals are fed USDA certified organic feed. No hormones or antibiotics are used, eggs are non-irradiated, non-pasturized as in grocery stores Life of egg lasts longer unrefrigerated, can also be refrigerated Grocery store eggs are irradiated and/or pasturized (pasturized as in eggs are raised to a certain temperature via hot water or hot air for a certain amount of time for "your protection"). Our eggs are NOT irradiated or pasturized...these are eggs from the farm and very high quality. Not to worry about cholesterol from these eggs: being pasture-fed, the cholesterol content in the eggs is the good cholesterol. The life of these eggs lasts longer than in the store. These eggs are best stored UNrefrigerated. They can be refrigerated though. For a phenomenal site on the low down on eggs: http://www.mercola.com/2000/nov/12/eggs.htm $3/dz. Roaster Chickens: Our Roaster Chickens have been raised for 11 weeks on the pasture. Meat is very tender We believe a happy chicken is a tasty chicken When you pick one of our chickens up you feel chicken dinner All of our chickens listen to classical music and sometimes they get hugs before they go to bed! Yes, these (roasters) are better than Tyson and KFC. $3.50/lb. Raw Cow milk: Certified organic registered purebred Jersey cows The cows are on the pasture all the time. They have free access to the barn and their USDA certified organic mineral mixes/supplement. The cows are only eat grass on the pasture. They aren?t given any grain or soy. $8/gal. Raw Cow Butter $10/lb. Raw Goat Milk: Registered Purebred Nubian Goats $12/gal. Blueberries: July ?06 Kiwi: Summer ?06 Jersey bull grass-fed meat: Available Summer 2007 Please express your interest, suggestions for other meats and products at [email protected] Stone Organic Pastures We are certified organic by Indiana Certified Organic, LLC and all of our products/animals are certified organic. All of our animals are fed USDA certified organic feed. The raw cow milk lasts 12 days in the fridge before it sours and the raw goat milk lasts about 2 weeks. When it?s frozen below -1 degrees, it will stay good for about 6 months. The raw cow milk from an Iowa Dept. of Ag. certified organic registered purebred Jersey all grassfed (no grain, no soy) is available now. Our prices are inline with fair market value for organic raw cow milk at $8/gallon. Our brown eggs are from chickens fed organic feed and they are out on the pasture (fenceless, grass-ranged). They are $3/dozen. Initially we are just selling the raw milk, but in the future we might sell cheese, yogurt, etc. I can make raw butter and raw egg nog (raw milk, raw eggs) now. We got our broiler chicks April 6th. They'll be in the barn under heat lamps for 4 weeks, then they'll be out on the pasture, (fenceless, grass-ranged) for 10 weeks, they will be processed at a USDA certified organic processing facility. They are of Label Rouge standards also. I'll attach a waiver I have for the raw milk, an order form I made, and a couple pictures of the cows' feed. I have more pictures I can send you if you want to see them. We processed our roaster chickens on Thurs. June 23rd at a USDA certified organic processing facility. They have been raised on pasture for 11 weeks and fed USDA certified organic feed. The person we get the feed from is the former vice president of Tyson Foods. He didn't like the conventional ways they were raising their birds at Tyson; using hormones and antibiotics, so he started his own certified organic and customized feed mill and he has testing labs and a team of experts on livestock feed. Helfterfeeds.com These are premium birds; the meat is very tender and they feel like turkeys. They average 6 lbs. and they are $3.50/lb. I got a couple pictures of them in the freezer to show you what they look like. I'll attach a couple pictures of them in the freezer. Our milk is different because: It's raw and USDA certified organic, straight from the animals, strained, and cooled right away and stored in tight containers at 38 degrees. We are using a portable milking machine and when the milk is transported, it is not exposed to the air. We're not using vaccines, we're using the things listed below and Helfter's feed to optimize their immune system. There are vaccines and wormers that are ok by organic standards. I think the vaccines and wormers pass through the animals' milk and we don't need vaccines when we're optimizing their immune system. It's from healthy animals fed grass and their supplements of Helfter's minerals it's from a purebred Jersey (the organic milk or any milk in the store, you don't know what breed of cow the milk came from because it's all mixed together). The difference can be told between a Jersey cross and a purebred Jersey's milk. The Jersey cross's milk tastes more watery than a purebred Jersey's. Jersey milk is highest in calcium It has the cream on the top. Jerseys have the highest amount of butter fat. Organic Valley pays a premium to their producers of purebred Jersey milk over any other cow or crossbreed. It's grassfed which changes the fat into the good fats for you: the Omega 3 and CLA. It is very high in Omega 3; the cream is the highest in the omega 3. Organic milk or milk in the store could be grainfed. The animals are on 10 acres of pasture grazing; they're not in the feedlot environment. They are rotated on the pasture. Worms don't build up in the animals as easily. Alvira's (due June 8th) somatic cell (bacteria) count is very low: tested in Feb. at 71,000. Average cows are 300,000. Cows are vet certified TB and Brucellosis negative The feed supplements we will be giving to all of our animals is USDA certified organic and will be coming from Helfter Feeds, Inc. in Osco, IL (helfterfeeds.com). Helfter is the former vice president of Tyson Foods and he's a microbiologist. He has a team of experts on livestock feed. One of the supplements from Helfter is designed to lower the somatic cell (bacteria) count, retard the growth of bad bacteria/pathogens, and optimize the animals' ruminal pH so that bacteria aren't in an environment where they can flourish. Another good thing he has in his feed is dried lactoacidopholis fermentation product. We will probably be growing our own hay: timothy, alfalfa, and a clover and it will be from certified organic seed from a place in Iowa. We'll be using Shaklee's Basic H in their water as part of their worming. We'll be growing our own herbs (from certified organic seed) such as three varieties of echinacea and making our own tincture. We won't be using conventional vaccines and wormers. Instead, we'll be using four products from Crystal Star (healthyhealing.com) and Helfter's to optimize the animals' immune system: 1.) I only got one gallon for me and then one each to my sister's in law.L. Smith --Southern ILHi Tim, I'm not sure who it was but a man from Collinsville came and got the other three gallons on Sunday night. He said he would be sending you a check. We also like the milk. Will you be delivering again soon? It has worked out well for us. Let me know. Thanks. Janet D. Southern, ILHi Tim!The milk is wonderful! We love it on cereal, in recipes or just straight from a glass :-) We only had a pint left over after this week so I can safely say we'll be buying a gallon a week (unless something comes up of course, like we have a vacation to GA at the end of June. I'll give you lots of advance notice as we get closer). I already made some alfredo sauce from skimmed cream - yum! And I have had some friends asking about it so you may have some new customers soon!Chances are we will be moving north in the fall or next spring, towards either Park Forest (near Tinley Park) or Joliet. I know you deliver up to Chicagoland... can we still buy milk from you after we move?- Kristin A. Farmer City, IL Hi Tim,We've all been drinking the delicious milk, lots of milk shakes with eggs too! So this time I would like to order 4 gallons and 5 dozen eggs. If its too much, let me know how much you can bring and the cost so I can send you the check or give it to you when you arrive;whatever you prefer. About the containers, I have some glass ones I'd like to use, enough for the five gallons. Do you need me to return the plastic ones?Bye, Silvia V. Chicago, IL Hi Tim,We love the milk, btw. We both sleep much better. I noticedthat the wife seems to have lots of energy and her mood is more relaxed and playful.Very nice stuff. You think the FDA will declare it a drug? It is better than any of thesorry drugs that the FDA says is safe for we humans. I'm convinced that our governmentcares not a hoot about the health of its citizenry and would rather we all be sick andbuying toxic prescription drugs. Tim, you are providing a crucial service to the healthand wellbeing of your fellow earthlings. I hope you prosper.Peace, deenie Collinsville, IL (Southern, IL) Hi Tim, The milk was excellent!
